CONQUERING NEW SPACES
For the first time ever, LIGANOVA GROUP partnered up with SPOBIS – the leading European sports-business event by SPONSORs Verlags GmbH – as a premium partner on September 20th & 21st in Düsseldorf. We were happy about every new and familiar face that stopped by our heroes booth and enjoyed engaging in conversations about spatial, digital and meta experiences, as well as pioneering sustainability solutions. And we went even beyond: During our two hosted lectures, we were able to put our LIGANOVA Group experts on stage and dive into today’s and tomorrow’s most significant topics:
In our Masterclass “Conquering New Spaces – Meta First”, two Managing Directors of LIGANOVA Group, Matthias Ullrich (LIGANOVA) and Markus Schuhmacher (LIGANOVA Horizon) and our dear friend and partner from Artificial Rome, explored the relevance of the metaverse in sports marketing, outlining the layers of virtual worlds and the principles of NFTs along current marketing examples.
“SPOBIS is the ideal platform for us to exchange ideas on relevant and forward-looking marketing topics in the sports business. We are therefore very pleased to be participating for the first time and to address both the increasing importance of phygital brand experiences and the need for measurable sustainability management in the sports business, to show possible solutions and to enter into dialogue with the decision-makers in the industry.”

On day two, Markus Adler, Co-Founder and Managing Director of our sustainability start-up Code Gaia, Moritz Weißleder, sustainability expert at DEKRA, and Steffen Lindenmaier, responsible for corporate sustainability at VfB Stuttgart came together for the panel “Measuring Sustainability in Sports Business”. There, they talked about the opportunities for sports clubs to make use of their potential as role models and to make a positive impact on society and the environment.
And even one more highlight took place: The live demo and world premier of the first soccer match taking place in the metaverse – Soil, realized by our partners at Artificial Rome. Using the latest AI-driven motion capture technology, 3D data of a real-life game is uploaded to the Metaverse. This technology enables the transfer of every move from the real world to 3D avatars.
We are more than happy to have been part of this exciting new experience and look forward to re-connecting again in the future!
