Mike John Otto becomes Partner and Executive Creative Director at Artificial Rome

Multi-award winning ADC and D&AD member Mike John Otto has joined the renowned Berlin-based design studio for immersive and meta experiences. Otto joins from Deloitte’s creative consultancy ACNE.

Berlin, June 01, 2023, Mike John Otto joins Artificial Rome, a LIGANOVA Group company. In his new role as Partner and Executive Creative Director, the experienced top creative with a design-driven, strategic brand approach is expected to expand collaboration within the LIGANOVA Group and lead Artificial Rome together with its founders. Most recently, he worked for over four years as Chief Creative Officer at Deloitte’s creative consultancy ACNE with offices in Stockholm, Berlin, London and Milan.

Both sides already know each other from the past: the founders of Artificial Rome and Otto met in 2004 at Interone in Hamburg, where they worked together on innovation projects for the BMW Group. They continued their joint, professional journey when Otto headed Hi-ReS! Studios in Germany and both studios produced award-winning work for Jägermeister. Also, when Otto brought Artificial Rome on board as Philipp & Keuntje’s managing creative partner to develop the interactive brand experience “Reshaping Excellence” for Sennheiser, the collaboration resulted in a globally visible and international multi-award-winning project.

“Mike has indeed been a long-time friend and partner. He has known the Artificial Rome team for many years and has worked on a variety of projects. Now it feels like Mike is coming home for good. We are very much looking forward to working together under one flag in the future.” says Patrik De Jong, founder of Artificial Rome.

“I believe in strong narrative experiences and brand experiences that turn people into brand fans. Web 3.0 and especially immersive experiences are increasingly playing a key role in this. The task of creating these even more consistently at Artificial Rome already excites me. The possibilities of merging physical and virtual spaces for brands also offer unique added value for customers of the LIGANOVA Group,” adds Mike John Otto.

Artificial Rome joined LIGANOVA at the beginning of the year as part of the group to connect real space with virtual space to create truly immersive experiences.
